An architect from the firm I’m interning at put me contact with the owner of Fakir Khana Museum in Lahore, which is housed in an old Haveli in the redlight district of the Walled City. He’s going to open it up for me tomorrow!
Considered a hidden treasure of art: paintings, sculptures, manuscripts, Chinese porcelain, Persian carpets and countless masterpieces of art, collections within the Museum have been passed through generations within the Fakir Family and number approximately 30,000 items from British, Sikh and Mughal eras. […] The exhibits of the museum include gifts from Queen Victoria and Maharajah Ranjit Singh to Fakir Syed Azizuddin and Fakir Syed Nooruddin who were ministers in his court.
I’m SO excited. It’s supposedly the largest private collection in South Asia.
